Gina Nieves, founder and chief marketing officer of MarkNet Group, said more small businesses are taking digital marketing seriously. “When implemented correctly, the return on investment (ROI) can far exceed that of traditional marketing strategies. Whatever the size or nature of your business, the internet gives you the power to reach millions of people every year,'' Nieves said.

According to the recent CAN Capital “Small Business Health Index, 58 percent of small business owners across the country are anticipating growth in the coming year. Because of that optimism, they’re taking positive steps to promote that growth, with 38 percent looking to expand or try new marketing techniques.

“A qualified web design and digital marketing specialist can provide the owner of a business with the right tools to succeed: knowledge of an industry’s trends and best practices, consistent branding across a variety of platforms, and assessment of how marketing campaigns are working based on real, measurable data,” Nieves said.

MarkNet has helped some Westchester businesses. Joe Marconi, the owner and founder of Osceola Garage in the Baldwin Place section of Somers, said he has had his website re-designed and is now using MarkNet and other businesses for social media, email and blogging campaigns.

“In order to stay on the cutting edge and maximize your marketing efforts, you need the help of a professional company that can take your business to the next level,’’ Marconi said.

Robert Ambrosi of North Salem, owner of Ambrosi Cutlery, is also reaping the benefits of an increased digital presence. “A well planned Internet presence covers more ground for your business than any salesman can hope to cover by a mile,'' Ambrosi said. "Since redesigning our website and optimizing it for search engines, we have had nothing but continued success year after year, with new calls coming in weekly.”

MarkNet's site for Ambrosi was recently added to the StudioPress showcase, which features some the best WordPress sites.

The Small Business Health Index, which was powered by SurveyMonkey, measured responses from more than 700 small business owners on market trends, personal business goals, industry challenges, and their outlook for the coming months. If their findings are accurate, digital marketers and website companies will likely have their hands full this year.
