Earth Day Bird Walk: Discover Spring Migration at Maple Avenue in Katonah with naturalist-in-residence Tait Johansson
Join Johansson for Earth Day along Maple Avenue. Hone birding skills and enjoy the sights and sounds of spring warblers and other songbirds around the Cross River Reservoir. New and experienced birders alike are welcome to join. Call Johansson at 914-232-1999 for binoculars. Persistent rain will cancel the walk. The walk is free. Level of difficulty is easy. No advance registration required.

Special Field Trip: Explore Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge and Braddock Bay in Central New York with aturalist-in-residence Tait Johansson.
Braddock Bay is the best spring hawk watch in the Northeast, with many migrating land birds and interesting waterfowl along the south shore of Lake Ontario. The trip is timed to coincide with the Braddock Bay Raptor Research Bird of Prey Days. Cost is $100 for members and $130 for nonmembers. The fee can be converted to a one-year membership at the Black-capped Chickadee level (does not include lodging and meals). Level of difficulty is easy to moderate. Field Trip: Explore Clough Preserve and Ice Pond with naturalist-in-residence Tait Johansson
Putnam County Land Trust’s Clough Preserve and Ice Pond area boasts a nice variety of migrant land birds. Come for a walk through the preserve and area shrub swamps. There is a limit of 10 registrants due to limited parking. Walk will depart Bylane Farm at 6:30 a.m. The walk is free. Level of difficulty is easy to moderate.
