Children's Book Festival Draws Authors From Westchester, All Over

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. --The very best children’s books bring favorite characters and stories to life, and soon parents and young readers will have the chance to meet the folks who bring the books to life.

More than 80 popular authors and illustrators -- about a third of whom are from Westchester County -- are expected to participate in this year’s Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival, one of the largest in the region, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Robert Bell Middle School. The school is located at 50 Senter St. in downtown Chappaqua, across from the train station.

Putnam County authors will also be on hand to sign and read excerpts from their works.

Books, of course, are the fest’s focus, but food, baked treats, kid-friendly activities, entertainment, and a raffle will also be available, organizers said.
