LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Anthony Goncalves, chef/owner of White Plains’ 42 The Restaurant, and Josh Ozersky, founder of Meatopia, are joining forces to host a dinner to benefit the South Salem Wolf Conservation Center’s ambassador wolf, Atka, and his lupine pals at the conservancy.
The unusual menu will include beef heart and beet tartar, cocoa and cayenne cavatelli, seven-spice bison and other dishes crafted by Goncalves with Atka in mind. Atka will be the guest of honor at the dinner and will be ready to personally greet each guest.
“My own kids are crazy about Atka,” said Goncalves, “and it’s great that he’s our neighbor right here in Westchester.”
42 The Restaurant is located atop White Plains’ Ritz-Carlton, the tallest building between Manhattan and Boston. Aside from its elegant menu, 42 was voted “one of the best scenic view restaurants,” by Open Table diners.
Meatopia is a huge annual culinary event, sponsored by many food provisioners, among them Whole Foods, Bell & Evans, Iceland Lamb, Kingsford and OXO. Dozens of chefs are on hand to serve up specialties.
The Feast for the Beast will take place Thursday, March 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 person, plus tax and a 20 percent gratuity. Beverage pairings are included. An opportunity to attend an Evening Howl at the Conservancy is also included in the price.
The Ritz-Carlton is at One Renaissance Square, White Plains. For reservations, call 914-761-4242.
