“Amazing Grace” is about the first – and so far only – musical produced inside the prison for women.

Volunteers from the Katonah-based nonprofit Rehabilitation for the Arts worked closely with the female inmates in a writing class, which ultimately led to producing the musical.

“Amazing Grace” the musical was performed in July 2013, and drew an excellent response from other inmates and invited guests, according to a press release.

The documentary “Amazing Grace” will screen at 7 p.m. at The Schoolhouse Theater, 3 Owens Road, Croton Falls.

For more information, call 914-277-8477 or visit The Schoolhouse Theater website.

Admission is free, but donations to benefit Rehabilitation for the Arts programs are welcomed.

Volunteers from the organization teach creative writing, dance, music, theater, and visual arts to men and women incarcerated in five state correctional facilities in the Hudson Valley.
