Robert Uricchio, winner of Hammond's Third Art Competition, will teach the workshop. He will cover topics such as aperture, shutter speed, color balance and composition with both group and one-on-one field instruction.

Students will learn in a classroom setting and then take images of the museum garden's flowers, water, reflections and more.

The workshop will conclude with reviewing and critiquing of the images.

Participants should bring their SLR or point-and-shoot camera, read their instruction manual, become familiar with how to change ISO, shutter speed, aperture, image compensation, color balance and image format. They should also bring fully charged batteries and a tripod if available.

The workshop will be offered on Thursday, May 12, 19 and 26 and June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from noon to 4 p.m. It will also be held on Saturday, May 21 and June 4 from noon to 4 p.m.

Pre-registration is required by contacting Lorraine Laken, Museum Director at 914-669-5033 or gardenprogram@yahoo.com.

Registration is $35 for museum members and $45 for non-members.
