I-87 Reopens After Incident With Heavy Police Activity

A stretch of northbound I-87 in Westchester has reopened after an incident with heavy police activity caused its closure of on Tuesday morning.

The closure was in the area of the Ashford Avenue Bridge in Dobbs Ferry between Saw Mill River Road (Exit 7) and Saw Mill River Pkwy (Exit 7A), with stopped traffic at the scene and stop-and-go traffic to Jackson Avenue.

The nature of the incident, which occurred just before 7:30 a.m., has not yet been confirmed.

The stretch of I-87 reopened around 8 a.m.
