The unidentified teen was already in custody for unrelated charges, when he was charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony for the killing of Brian Marshall II, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

On July 20, Marshall II was fatally shot by two suspects in Georgetown Village, and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries, police reported.

In the weeks following the homicide, police released video footage of the incident and offered a $5,000 reward for information on the suspects, authorities said.

After receiving charges for Marshall II's death, the 17-year-old suspect remained at the Juvenile Detention Center and had a pending court date, officials said.

Prince William County police are still offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information on anyone else involved in Marshall II's murder, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact police at 703-792-7000.
