This five-week program is for students in grades three through 12. Lessons are for skiers in third grade and up; second-grade students may attend if a parent goes every week. Lessons for snowboarders are for third grade and up.

The ski program will begin Jan. 6 and continue on Wednesdays through February.

It will take place at Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson. A bus will pick up the students from the North Salem Middle School and PQ Gym about 3:30 p.m. and return to the PQ Gym about 6:50 p.m. There will be one makeup lesson to be scheduled at a later date.

Children having their own equipment may ride the bus, but the equipment must be transported separately by their parents. (New York state law does not allow the transportation of children and skis/snowboards on the same bus.)

If there is an early dismissal or no school, this trip will be postponed (a message will be put on the recreation telephone number).
