North Salem's Schoolhouse Theater Hosts Stand-Up Comedy Night

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Schoolhouse Theater will be presenting a stand-up comedy night with Sergio Chicon, Mick Diflo and Adam Oliensis on Saturday, June 28.

The comics have collectively appeared on "Letterman," "The Late Late Show," "The Tonight Show," "Conan O'Brien" and Comedy Central.

A regular on Comedy Central, MTV and Gotham Comedy, Chicon is known for his character, "Frank Leo, Construction Worker," based on his earlier experiences. Coming out of the sketch-group Hazmat, Diflo has also been a contributing writer to "The Idiot's Guide to Jokes," Jest Magazine and The Huffington Post.

Oliensis' comedy explores the lessons in humility he learns from his wife and children." Having opened for Robert Klein, Colin Quinn and Larry Miller, he also co-authored the movie "The Pompatus of Love." As an actor, Oliensis has appeared on Broadway, off-Broadway, in the movies, on episodic television and in many television and radio commercials.

"Comedy has always been a big part of the plays we do (i.e., the current production of Murray Schisgal's "Luv"), so it was logical to schedule a night of stand-up comics having a direct connection to the audience," said Schoolhouse Executive Director James Shearwood.

Tickets for Comedy Night are $20 and may be purchased on the web at www.schoolhousetheater.org or by phone to 914-277-8477.
