NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Board of Directors of the Westchester Land Trust (WLT) and the 2014 Benefit Committee will host, “An Evening Under the Stars” on Old Salem Farm on Saturday, June 14.

The event is expected to welcome more than 350 attendees.

Guests can expect a dinner catered by Tastefully Yours, as well as dancing, and a silent and live auction.

WLT will honor former WLT Executive Director Candace M. Schafer.

"We are proud to honor Candace for years of dedication to the Westchester Land Trust and her ongoing commitment to permanently protect environmentally valuable land throughout the region," said Jonathan Wiesner, chairman of the WLT's Board of Directors.

He went on to note that Schafer had led the nationally accredited land conservation organization through its 25th anniversary last year and successfully forged public and private partnerships to protect and enhance the natural resources in the Westchester and Eastern Putnam County communities.

Schafer recently stepped down as executive director and has joined the WLT's Board of Directors.

The committee planning WLT’s 2014 Benefit “An Evening Under the Stars” includes Nanette Bourne and John Delfs, MD, Amy and Keith Ferguson, Susan and James Henry, Jackie and Peter Kamenstein, Vivien G. Malloy, Gretchen and Peter Menzies, Mary Ann Petrilena, and Pamela and David Small.

Tickets to this event start at $325, and can be purchased on or by calling Grace Buck, assistant development director at (914)234-6992, extension 23.

All of the funds raised through the benefit will enable the organization to protect environmentally-important open space and care for and manage the 24 preserves it owns.

The benefit is sponsored in part by Old Salem Farm (presenting sponsor), Serendipity magazine (media sponsor), The Foley Group (print sponsor) and Sarah Fey Designs (design sponsor).

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available by calling Tom Gabriel, development director at (914)234- 6992, extension 18.
