The show will begin at 7 p.m., April 8, at The Joanne Marien Performing Arts Center, at Somers Middle School at 250 Route 202 in Somers. The show will benefit RTA, the Katonah-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of men and women in prison. The theme for the event is “The Transformative Power of the Arts.”

"(RTA) is a magnificent organization that brings the fine and performing arts into maximum security prisons and rehabilitates and heals using music, dance, drama and art," said Somers Orchestra Director Anne Harris. "It is a breathtaking endeavor and the science has proven time and again the effectiveness of the arts on the success of the rehabilitated prisoners in the long term.”

The school orchestra, the school choir, and the school band will join a dance group of RTA alumn in a video, “Inside Prison Walls,” showing the effect of RTA’s program on one very talented prisoner, and highlight performances of Broadway show tunes.

Tickets are available online at the RTA website. Reserved section seating is $25. The suggested donations is $8 for adults, $4 for children and $25 for families of four or more.
