NORTH SALEM, N.Y. Square dancing, local produce and autumn celebrations are among the weekend events planned in the North Salem area.
Saturday, Oct. 13
Conversations with Gardeners: 10 a.m. Local expert gardeners will answer your questions about planning, planting and maintaining your garden. Its at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
Fall Festival at Harvest Moon Farm: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hayrides, face painting, cider doughnuts, a pumpkin patch, apple picking and live music are a few of the highlights at Harvest Moons Fall Festival. Harvest Moon Farm & Orchards is located at 130 Hardscrabble Road, North Salem.
Lasdon Train Display: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The annual holiday Lionel train display will pay special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Westchester Parks Department. The show will be open weekends through October. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children aged 12 and under. Its at the main house in Lasdon Park and Arboretum, Route 35, Somers.
Register to Vote: noon to 9 p.m. The Board of Elections will have a table set up at the North Salem Town Hall for last minute voter registration. The North Salem Town Hall is at 266 Titicus Road in Salem Center.
St. James Square Dance: 6 to 9 p.m. St. James Episcopal Church will hold its sixth annual square dance evening for people of all ages, from the most agile square-dancers to beginners. Food and beer will satisfy the appetite you work up. The suggested contribution is $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Its in the Chase Meadow Farm Barn, 315 Mills Road, North Salem.

Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans. The Muscoot Farmers Market will continue every Sunday through October. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
