NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Musical events and a chance to clean out your desk and attic are among the happenings in North Salem this weekend.

Friday, Dec. 14

Cookie Mania: 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Discuss selling cookies, make a cookie charm bracelet, watch a Girl Scout movie and have snacks with Girl Scout Troop 2850. The event is open to all girls and Girl Scouts. The cost is $10. Contact chrisperks@optonline.net or dawnmccarthy1@comcast.net. It's at the Croton Falls Firehouse, 1 Front St., Croton Falls.

Goat Rodeo Plays The General Store: 7 p.m.-9 p.m. North Salem resident Eric Pooley will perform with his band, Goat Rodeo. The band features Curtis Kendrick on keyboards, Stephen Dahlquist on bass, Jeff Parry on harmonica and Eric Pooley on guitar. Wine and cheese will be served. The Union Hall General Store is at 2 Keeler Lane in North Salem.

Cabaret: 7:30 p.m. Come to the Cabaret performed by the North Salem High School Drama Club. The program includes improvs, monologues and songs, all entirely student organized. Refreshments will be served. The suggested donation is $5 per person, proceeds will go to the memorial fund set up by the Baumler and Robson families. It takes place in the North Salem High School cafeteria at 230 June Road.

Saturday, Dec. 15

North Salem Youth Lacrosse Club Registration: 8 a.m.-11 a.m. The NSYLC will hold the first of its registration and informational sessions.The club provides lacrosse teams for players in gragdes 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 and sponsors a clinic for players in kindergarten and grades 1 and 2. The event takes place at Pequanaconk Elementary School, 230 June Road in North Salem. See the website for more information or email the club president at jmrshaughnessy@optonline.net.

Shredding Day: 9 a.m.-noon. Get rid of all those unneeded bank and credit card statements, insurance forms and other personal papers on site at the North Salem Highway Department. Prices range from $20 to $40, depending upon quantity. A certificate of destruction is available on request. Hard-drive destruction is also available. For more information, call 914-277-4211. The Highway Department is at Route 116 and June Road, North Salem.

Tea and Tour: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Muscoot Farm invites you to take a guided tour of the Main House, followed by a formal tea in the living room. Bring a friend or child, age 10 or older. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $15 per person. Call 914-864-7286 to register. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35, in Somers.

Less Nessmen: 9 p.m. One of the Hudson Valley’s hottest bands will perform with its new lead singer, Jeff Bones. It’s at the Lovell Street Grill and Alehouse, 151 Route 202 (Lovell Street), Lincolndale.

Sunday, Dec. 16

Antique Stocking Stuffers Show & Sale: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Up to 70 dealers from eight states will offer antique items for stocking stuffing. The cost is $7 per person; children under 12 are free. It's at John Jay High School, 60 North Salem Road (Route 121N) in Cross River.

Artist’s Reception: 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The paintings of Somers resident Bob Reidy, a professional engineer with an artistic eye for the Croton watershed, will be on exhibit throughout December. The artist will greet visitors on Sunday afternoon. Light refreshments will be served. It’s at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St., Somers.
