Friday, August 3
Legos at the Library: 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Kids of all ages love to create with Legos. The library has a large supply and invites everyone to drop by and have some fun. The Ruth Keeler Library is at 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
Saturday, August 4
Bilingual Story Time: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Come and join the gang to hear Spanish-English stories and songs, under the guidance of Barbara. All ages are invited. There is no charge and no registration is required. Its at the Ruth Keeler Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
DeCicco Food Fest: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. DeCicco Family Markets will host a Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday in the parking lot of its store in the Orchard Square shopping center on Route 121 in Cross River. Click here for more details.
Moonviewing Concert at the Hammond: 6:30 - 10 p.m. The 46th annual Moonviewing Concert follows in the tradition established in 1966 by museum founder Natalie Hays Hammond. East meets West to the strains of Japanese music in the Japanese Stroll Garden, adorned with paper lanterns and lit by a full moon. The Bento Box picnic begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Tea Ceremony class at 7 p.m. and the concert at 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting). The fee is $20 for non-museum members. Sunday, August 5
Muscoot Farmers Market: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans are available. The Muscoot Farmers Market will continue every Sunday through October. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
Shade-Loving Plants: 2 - 3 p.m. If your garden is overshadowed by trees, here is your chance to learn about perennials and shrubs that thrive in shady areas. A Lasdon horticulturist will guide you through a stroll among shade-lovers. There is no charge. Lasdon Park and Arboretum is on Route 35 in Somers.
