NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Winter weather is known for drying out the skin, and with the extreme cold we've been having, this season's been a doozy.

Here, some tips from twins Jennifer and JoAnna Sciarrinno of DermaGlow Spa in North Salem.

Embrace the "X": Exfoliation, that is, and not just for your face. That includes your lips as well as your entire body. Exfoliation is not only a great winter beauty tip, it will leave your skin looking healthy, glowing and youthful  if you continue it regularly. You should exfoliate your face two to three times a week, and your body three to four times a week.

Moisturize: This is key for maintaining healthy, soft, hydrated skin. In winter, DermaGlow's most popular facial is the Hydration Booster Facial for that very reason. The twins also recommend Crystal Peel, which is a great spa and at-home service that uses the same crystals as in microdermabrasion. Their picks for the face? A Sanitas moisturizer, depending on your skin type, or Scrubz for the body.

Drink. Stay hydrated with water. It's natural to drink less water in the winter because we turn to hot drinks like cocoa and tea, but your skin needs hydration from the inside out. A little warm water with lemon can be very refreshing and hydrating at the same time.
