The shelter is teaming up with NBC 4 New York/WNBC to host the third annual nationwide pet adoption drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the shelter, 590 N State Road, Briarcliff Manor.

During the event, the SPCA of Westchester will offer reduced and/or waived pet adoption fees on many dogs and cats as part of the effort that has resulted in more than 70,000 pet adoptions nationwide.

“We are so grateful for the amount of visibility NBC has brought to the ‘Clear the Shelters’ initiative and for advancing our animal welfare mission by leaps and bounds.” said Shannon Laukhuf, the SPCA’s executive director. “Millions of viewers learned of the advantages of opening their hearts and homes to shelter animals in need of a second chance.”

To check out some of the animals who will be included in the event, visit http://www.spca914.org/adopt/animals-for-adoption. Please note, the puppies and dogs labeled as ready on the 26th are not included in this adoption event.

The shelter is also encouraging residents that are interested in adopting an animal to get their application in ahead of the event. Walk-ins are welcome that day but getting your application approved ahead will jumpstart the process.
