The state Senate approved the bill unanimously back in March, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo would have to sign it into law, lohud.com said.
Pet owners would have the option to be buried with their loved ones, provided that animal remains haven't been buried yet, reported lohud.com.
The proposed law wouldn't apply to religious cemeteries, lohud.com noted.
