Letter: Families Of 2 Storm Victims Thank North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. ? Jack Baumler and Michael Robson were killed Oct. 29 when a tree fell on a home in North Salem. This letter is from the boys' families. The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Send letters by email to northsalem@dailyvoice.com

To our blessed community,

We have all been tremendously affected by the tragic loss of our boys Jack Baumler and Michael Robson during last week’s storm.

We wish to formally thank the firemen, first responders, and EMTs (HEROES) who rushed to the lake in a valiant effort to save our two young men. With little regard for their own safety, they worked under horrific conditions. Our neighbors rushed into the home as well.

To identify one or two people would be a disservice to the scores of heroes there that night. You know who you are and so do we.

We also thank your families.

The community response to our loss has been overwhelming. Your hugs and prayers have comforted our aching hearts.

To the hundreds who celebrated Jack and Mike’s lives, we are forever grateful to you all.

We have been touched by the truly beautiful people in our North Salem community.

From the bottom of our hearts,

The Robson and Baumler Families
