Local Orchards: Who's Open, Who's Closed

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Harvest Moon Farm and Orchards announces that it is “hibernating from Christmas until March 2012.” However, fresh egg lovers will be happy to know that eggs will be available every Monday throughout the winter from 10 a.m. to noon (except for December 26).

The Country Farmer will close at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 24 and plans to reopen shortly before Easter. If the spring weather is warm, it may open even earlier.

Salinger’s Market, just across the North Salem border in Brewster, is open every day of the year, except Thanksgiving and Christmas. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Salinger’s assures everyone that “we bake all the time.”
