Shaun Eli Breidbart, executive director of The Ivy League of Comedy and Liberty Comedy Corp.,  has a roster of comedians at the ready for fundraisers, private parties, corporate events, theater performances, etc. He even got a request (once) to perform in barn which he did for his pay and free pizza.

Among those he works with: Jon Fisch, who was just on the Stephen Colbert Show, Wali Collins (Letterman, Comedy Central), Karen Bergreen (Comedy Central, The View, Nick Mom), Joe DeVito (Late Late Show, Comedy Central, Fox Red Eye and more ), Andy Pitz (Letterman, Late Late Show), and Ophira Eisenberg (Late Late Show and her own show Ask Me Another on NPR), among others. "I’m very fortunate to have a great network of hilarious colleagues to work with," he said.

Not to mention himself.

The former Scarsdale resident (via Queens) started writing comedy and selling jokes to Jay Leno for his Tonight Show monologue 25 years ago. He started performing stand-up 13 years ago and was so successful, that, six years later, he left his full-time finance job to work full-time as a comedian.

His brand of comedy, he said,  is "clean and fun." In other words, clever rather than stupid. "Jokes that maybe require a bit of thinking or understanding," he explained.

"For example I sometimes open with a joke about the Supreme Court. But anybody who’s ever read the newspaper or watched the news will get it. But then again the joke that may follow it is about burying a body.

"Weirdly enough I had a show two months ago on the day of my mother’s funeral (not creepy- she specifically told me not to miss any shows when she passed away, and she was 95). So, after the funeral and burial, I went on stage. I was halfway through the burying-a-body joke when it occurred to me that I’d actually buried a body that day."

Breidbart, who lives in Southern Westchester, gets his inspiration from everyday life. "Stuff just happens to me," he said. "I guess I lead a charmed life. Or maybe because I’m the kind of person who’d appeal a $25 parking ticket, which led to a great story about sitting with criminals in appeals court."

And then there's always Scarsdale -- and its many contrasts with Queens, where he was born.
