"I met my husband, Stephen, 'Sid,' through a mutual friend. I was running at the gym and a grade school friend who I had not seen in 30 years jumped on the treadmill next to me, we quickly recognized each other and reconnected.

He set me up with a man that was the polar opposite of me -- loud, gregarious, will have a room of people laughing loudly by his comedic approach to everything within minutes. Our first date was May 6, 2009 and my first impression of my now husband was, 'Holy he towers over me!' A former rugby player at 6'3" and 250-plus pounds compared to my 5'2" petite frame was a tad funny.

But this is where it gets interesting. Our first three dates were definitely memorable: first date, food poisoning; second date severe allergic reaction to his cologne; and the third date I wanted to see if he would be able to keep up with me in a 90 minute class -- the whole class was in on it. He barely made it, but it certainly clinched the deal ... and now he can easily out cycle me.

We were engaged mid January of 2010, married March 10 in his native Australia on an island on the Great Barrier Reef and then had a New York wedding at our home in the Catskills. We are about to celebrate our sixth year of marriage and I can't wait to spend 60 more with him.

I have my own personal comedian, athlete, an amazing cook, a talented carpenter, a man's man in every way, but the gentleness and heart of a teddy bear to me and any woman, especially to my mom."
