Competing in the final dual meet of the season on July 26, the four members of the 200-yard freestyle relay team shattered a club record that had been standing for 18 years.

"It was a goal for them," said Ed Cullen, the club's head coach. "They knew exactly what the record was from day one and they worked really hard to get it. It was a great moment for them."

Aiden Robin, Ben Leicht, and Rian Balbino of North Salem, along with Brett Alexander of Connecticut, teamed up against Bedford Hills to finish in a time of  2:10:47. That beat the previous club mark of 2:10:90 set in 1995.

"Tim Herr, who was part of the relay team that set the mark 18 years ago, called the kids and congratulated them," said Cullen. "It was neat for the boys to hear that. They grew up seeing these awesome swimmers on the board and for their names to be right next to them is very cool for the kids." To break the record, the four swimmers had to put forth their best efforts of the season in the 11 & under division. "Everybody did their best times," Cullen said. "I believe Aiden and Ryan dropped two seconds on their times. They all did such an amazing time. They saw the record on the board and they knew they could take the record down and they did that day. I'm very, very proud of them."
