North Salem Weekend Events For Kids

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - If you’re looking for things to do with the kids this weekend, look no further. Here’s a list of child-friendly activities.

  • Baby-Sitting Course

Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, North Salem

Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Students in grades 6 through 12 can learn vital skills for the safe and responsible care of children. The class will be taught by Denise Schirmer, a highly experienced and certified teacher of baby-sitting techniques. Enrollment is limited to 12 spaces. Participants must bring a notebook, pencil, bag lunch and a drink. Certificates of completion will be awarded. Call the library for a reservation. There is no charge.

  • Country Breakfast

Croton Falls Fire Station, Croton Falls

Sunday 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: As one of its fundraisers for the North Salem High School scholarship, the Croton Falls Fire Department invites hungry kids, teens and grownups to participate in an All-You-Can-Eat Country Breakfast. Dishes include pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, hash browns, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The suggested donation is $10 for adults, $5 for children.

  • Winter Woolies

Muscoot Farm, Somers

Sunday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Kids and interested grownups get to visit the woolly sheep and try their hand at carding, spinning and weaving with real Muscoot sheep wool. There is no charge.
