Westchester HS Math Whiz Gets Perfect Score At State Contest

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- A Scarsdale High School math whiz got a perfect score at a statewide contest earlier this month, according to a report on patch.com.

Richard Xu recently took top honors at a statewide competition by answering all 10 questions correctly in a tie-breaker round.

Richard Xu answered all 10 questions correctly to win the tie-breaker round at the New York State Mathematics League Competition in upstate Penfield, the patch.com report said.

One the six other Scarsdale students competing, Harry Chalfin, took home the Berman-Rockow award, which is given to the participant who best embodied a spirit of cooperation and teamwork, the patch.com story said.
