770 Still Without Power In North Salem Monday AM

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Nearly 800 New York State Energy and Gas customers remained without power in North Salem Monday morning, a week after Hurricane Sandy brought strong winds, rain and flooding to the area.

An estimated 11,986 out of 32,524 NYSEG customers in Westchester were without power at 5:30 a.m. Monday.

An estimated 776 out of 2,391 NYSEG customers were without power in North Salem at 5:30 a.m. Monday, down from 1,135 Sunday morning.

The utility company reports 11,986 out of 32,524 NYSEG customers in Westchester were without power at 5:30 a.m. Monday, down from 16,960 Sunday morning.

“Our employees and contractors continue their excellent work to restore service and we appreciate our customers’ patience as our crews and support personnel work diligently. We’re grateful for their outstanding performance, often under difficult conditions,” said Mark Lynch, NYSEG president, in a press release. “Resources continue to be secured to further bolster our restoration efforts and we’re using these skilled individuals in an efficient manner to restore power safely, and as quickly as possible.”
