Brewster Man Charged With Aggravated DWI Following Head-On Collision

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- New York State Police charged a Brewster man with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a head-on collision in Southeast on Thursday, according to officials.

Hari Nayar, 44, was allegedly traveling on Route 22 when he traveled over the double yellow line and struck an oncoming vehicle, police said. 

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Danbury Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

Nayar supplied a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of .31 percent, almost four times the legal limit of intoxication, police said.

Nayar is scheduled to appear in Southeast Court on Feb. 26, police said.
