In the wake of the sexual abuse scandal involving former drama teacher Christopher Schraufnagel - who was registered as a Level 3 sex offender last week for sexually abusing students - the district reportedly filed a request from the state Supreme Court, naming a recent graduate as the subject of allegations against social studies teacher Matthew Ketterer, who also served as a track coach at Horace Greeley High School.

According to the report, the district wants the student - whose name was not disclosed - to testify against Ketterer at his administrative hearing this week regarding the allegations. The report states that his lawyer has stated that there was no interaction between Ketterer and the student.

Ketterer was hired in 2006 and tenured in 2009. He served as a social studies teacher at the school during his time at the district and was an assistant cross-country coach.

The report says that “records show that Chappaqua commenced a disciplinary action against Ketterer under New York State Education Law, and issued an administrative subpoena to compel the student to testify on Dec. 11.”

The allegations come on the heels of the Schraufnagel trial, after he resigned in September last year amid claims of sexual abuse.
