Child, Infant Among Seven Involved In Southeast Two-Car Crash

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has released the names of seven victims who were injured during a two-car accident on Route 6 in Brewster on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

The crash occurred at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday when a sedan traveling east on Route 6 attempted to turn left onto northbound Route 22 and was struck broadside by a minivan traveling west on Route 6, police said. 

Samuel Valasquez Giron, 40, of Amenia was driving the sedan. Magdalana Guzman, 60; Elva Mejia, 42; and Christian Velasquez, 4, were passengers in Giron's car, police said. 

The driver of the minivan was Christi L. Browne-Sibrizzi, 34, of Carmel. Her passengers were  Joan A. Browne, 60, and 2-month-old Jack Sibrizzi, police said.

Guzman was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center after the accident and was still listed in critical condition, police said.
