BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Firefighters from across Putnam County and beyond marched in the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department's annual parade, which was held on Wednesday evening.
The parade route – a change for this time was noted – included a march on Route 6 and into the downtown area. The parade included several fire vehicles, both vintage and recent, along with an array of musical acts. Apparatus honking and blaring could be heard during the parade.
Joining the Brewster firefighters were counterparts from several areas. They included Putnam Lake, Patterson, Carmel, Lake Carmel, Mahopac, Mahopac Falls, Kent, Putnam Valley, Somers, Croton Falls, Ossining and Danbury.
The Brewster Volunteer Fire Department covers the Village of Brewster and the Town of Southeast.
