with disabilities is on display through March 19 at The Schoolhouse Theater & Gallery in Croton Falls.

The exhibit, which is called "Will you come to my party," displays the work of those who began making art in midlife.

Due to their various disabilities, such as Asperger’s, autism and deafness, these individuals were overlooked by mainstream society and did not have a voice until they picked up a paintbrush.

.Their paths all led them to discover themselves through art at the Rockland Living Museum at the Rockland psychiatric center.

The exhibit should be of particular interest to artists, therapists and anyone interested in the healing properties of creativity.

Hours vary, entry is free and there is plenty of parking. For more information, call 914-277-8477 or click here.

The Schoolhouse Theater & Gallery is located at 3 Owens Road in Croton Falls.
