Keller Williams agents served as wait staff and bartenders Tuesday at Traditions 118 Restaurant in Granite Springs.
All tips collected benefited the local charity Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, as well as the KW Cares charity.
Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, a community action group designed to increase awareness of the growing drug problem in the region, was founded by the Christiansen and Salomone families, who each lost a loved one to drug addiction.
KW Cares helps Keller Williams associates facing financial hardship due to unexpected major emergencies. KW Cares also contributes to communities in need after catastrophic events.
“I was so excited to host this event for the fourth annual year,” Lou Cardillo, owner and broker of Mahopac’s Keller Williams location, said in a press release.
“My awesome team of Westchester and Putnam’s finest real estate agents love to give back to our community, and this is what KW Now Serving is all about.
“This year we were honored to partner with the Salomone and Christiansen families to help combat the drug epidemic that has plagued our community.”
Steve Salomone, a co-founder of Drug Crisis in our Backyard, helped start the Carmel-based organization after losing his son, Justin, to a heroin overdose.
“We are working tirelessly in our effort to drive awareness and reduce the stigma associated with addiction,” Salomone said in a press release.
“We are so pleased and honored to be the local charity that Keller Williams chose to benefit in this year's Now Serving event.
“We will use the funds generated by the event to continue our work.”
