Mahopac Man Operating Watercraft Charged With Reckless Operation

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Putnam County Sheriffs charged a Mahopac man with reckless operation of a watercraft on Lake Mahopace on Monday, Sept. 1, police said.

Jeffrey L. Spain, 51, was allegedly observed operating a watercraft in an unsafe manner by turning directly into another boat and increasing the odds of an accident, police said.

Spain was stopped by a by a sheriff's marine unit patrol and taken back to shore where he was charged, police said.
