New York Falls Behind Florida, Is Now Fourth In US Population

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State is now the fourth-most populous state in the union after falling behind Florida in a recent report by the Census Bureau, according to The New York Times

Florida has officially passed New York as the third-most populous state in the union.

The Sunshine State had long been threatening New York and finally passed it with 19.9 million residents to New York's 19.7, The Times said. 

The Empire State is now behind California, Texas and Florida in terms of population, The Times said.
