NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The St. James Episcopal Church in North Salem celebrated the opening of its newly refurbished Village Hall Saturday, Jan. 10 welcoming parishioners and community members for dancing, rejoicing, merriment, and even a mime performance by Bill Bowers.
Visitors were impressed with the church's new digs. "It's gorgeous," said Parishioner Frank Sewell. "It's wonderful for the church to have events. It's a nice atmosphere, and hopefully the community will get more involved. It's great for wedding receptions, simply a terrific space."
Katherine Daniels, the church's Senior Warden, agreed. "We're very proud and happy with the way it turned out," Daniels said. "It's a real asset for the church and the community. I'm very thankful to all who were involved... it's been two years in the making and the response has been extremely positive."
