North Salem Election Results Finalized

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Bruce Buchholtz and Amy Rosmarin have officially been named to the 2012 Town Board by the Westchester County Board of Elections. The board completed the re-canvassing of voting machines and released the official results of the November election.

Amy Rosmarin, running on the Democratic, Independent and North Salem Rural tickets, received 673 votes and Bruce Buchholtz, Republican and Conservative tickets, received 600 votes, making them the winners of the two Council seats. Runners-up were John L. White, Independent, with 566 votes and William A. Monti, Republican, with 546 votes.

Winners of the two open Town Justice seats were Ralph R. Mackin, with 985 votes and John J. Johnson, Jr., with 814 votes. Both candidates ran on the Republican, Conservative and Independent tickets. Runner-up was Solomon J. Schepps, Democratic and North Salem Rural tickets, with 514 votes.

Warren J. Lucas, who ran unopposed on the Republican, Conservative and Independent tickets received a total of 1,110 votes.

Veronica Howley, running unopposed for Town Clerk, received a total of 1,091 on the Republican, Conservative and Independent tickets.

Town Clerk Veronica Howley said, “Considering this was not a gubernatorial or presidential election, we had an excellent turnout.”

The swearing-in ceremony for Supervisor Lucas, Councilmembers Rosmarin and Buchholtz, Justices Mackin and Johnson and Town Clerk Howley will be held at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library on January 2, 2012 at 1 p.m. The ceremony will be open to the public.
