“We expect a magnificent bloom next spring, so long as mother nature behaves itself and doesn’t extend spring through the winter,” said society president Cynthia Curtis.

The location for the 12-foot trees is where North Salem's new meeting room, police station and court are now located. Cherry trees were removed due to drainage and underground utilities issues when conversion of North Salem's old highway garage began. The new trees replace the noticeable lack of greenery created by the construction.
