The Westchester District Attorney’s Office alleges that Bernardini, a licensed clinical social worker, engaged in sexual contact with a 12-year-old male client at his Bronxville office on Tuesday.

The boy told his family immediately afterwards and the Bronxville Police were informed. Bernardini was arrested on Wednesday and bail was set at $75,000 or $150,000 bond.

If he goes to trial and is convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison.

Bernardini is also awaiting trial on a class A misdemeanor charge of forcible touching, related to an accusation brought against him by a 16-year-old girl he was counseling in his North Salem home.

If convicted, the maximum sentence on that charge is one year in county jail. His court date in that case has been set for July 15.
