North Salem Weekend Events For Kids

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - If you’re looking for things to do with the kids this weekend, look no further. Here’s a list of child-friendly activities.

  • Become a Lego Architect

The Ruth Keeler Library, North Salem

Friday 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: The Lego Club will meet on the last Friday of every month through March for unstructured creativity. The library has a large supply of Legos and Duplos but would welcome more donations. There is no charge and no registration is required. 

  • Jack and the Beanstalk

The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield, CT

Saturday 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.: A live performance of the children’s classic story, complete with a growing beanstalk. The show is presented by Theater IV as part of the Pepsi Children’s Series. Tickets are $15. 

  • A Winter Sports Expo

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River

Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Experts from EMS will demonstrate a variety of winter sports including cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing. The will discuss choosing the proper equipment and gear. Equipment will be on hand so you can try it out yourself. The health and safety requisites for winter hiking and camping will also be discussed. The group will assemble at Shelter 5 on Michigan Road (weather permitting). There is no charge, but there is a parking fee of $10. For further information, call 914-864-7000.
