North Salem's Ruth Keeler Library Offers Numerous Educational Resources

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Ruth Keeler Library is offering museum passes, e-books and a number of other resources available for use.  

Here is a list of perks from the library:

Museum Passes: The Friends of the Library have purchased passes to offer families free or discounted admission to the following museums: Guggenheim Museum, Neuberger Museum of Art, Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, American  Museum of Natural History, Katonah Museum of Art, Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk (discounted admission), Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk (discounted admisison), and Museum of the City of New York (including the South Street Seaport)

Free downloads: The Westchester Library System and the Keeler Library have subscribed to a number of sources for free e-books, audio books and music that can be downloaded onto devices.

The library has six Nooks loaded more than 190 titles including classics and bestsellers, school assignments, book group choices, fiction and non-fiction. The titles include:

   "Inferno" by Dan Brown    "Never go Back" by Lee Child    "The Quest" by Nelson DeMille    "The Sports Gene" by David Epstein      "Five Days at Memorial" by Sheri Fink    "David and Goliath" by Malcolm Gladwell

The list of titles also includes children's and teen books. A new Nook HD Color is also available. The devices may be checked out by anyone with a North Salem library card for three weeks.

New at the library: 

Spanish language materials: The library is creating a collection of books for all ages in Spanish. It is on the shelves near the windows at the back of the main library.

Enlarged collection of language learning materials on CD and DVDs: Languages including Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, English and more. Little Pim DVDs available for children in various languages. 

New magazines: Gluten-Free Living, HGTV, Rolling Stone, Vogue and Wired. All back issues of magazines may be checked out.
