As of 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon, 281 of NYSEG’s 38,310 Putnam customers remained in the dark. In Northern Westchester, 13 customers were still reporting outages, while just seven NYSEG customers in Dutchess were still without power.
Power restoration is expected to be completed by midnight on Monday statewide.
According to officials, “a workforce of more than 2,100 company, contractor and mutual assistance personnel have been working since the end of the storm to restore power across the region and NYSEG continues to shift resources to areas that remain without power.”
“Crews will continue to work into the evening to bring on all customers affected. Some customers have experienced damage to their homes that will require repairs prior to their power being restored. Upon completion of those repairs we will reconnect them as soon as possible. Crews will continue to work after all customers are restored to complete a system-wide patrol to ensure that all repairs are complete.”
“We are completing the restoration to the hardest hit areas and thank our customers for their patience and understanding,” NYSEG President and Chief Executive Officer Carl Taylor said. “The localized damage caused by this very strong storm was beyond comprehension and our restoration team has worked tirelessly to clean it up as quickly as possible.”
