NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The women of the Salem Golf Club are turning out on Thursday, July 21, to do their bit for breast cancer research. Its a Play for P.I.N.K. tournament and any interested golfer is invited to participate. No need to be a club member. So far there are about 90 participants, about half of them from the North Salem area. There's still room for more.
We hope everyone will come and enjoy a beautiful day, playing a beautiful game for a good cause, said co-chairperson, Susan Sperandio. The more the merrier!
The tournament opens with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The fee is $150, which includes carts (green fees waived), a Mulligan, continental breakfast, luncheon and raffle tickets. $80 of the fee is a tax deductible donation to Play for P.I.N.K.
Thanks to underwriting from Bloomberg, Estee Lauder and Wilson, 100% of your donation will go directly to cancer research.
Last year's event earned $15,000. This year they are hoping to make $20,000, according to Sperandio.
