Political Objectors Present Their Cause in North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Chris Sare and Margaret Scialdone of LaRouchePAC set up a table near the North Salem Post Office at 9 a.m. on Monday to explain their political stand to passersby. The organization promotes seven issues related to the current economic situation and the political arena.

Sare put special emphasis on three of the issues.

“We have to get Obama out,” he said. “We’ve either got to dump him, impeach him or make him resign. Then, we’ve got to reinstate Glass-Steagall.”

As defined in the LaRouchePAC flyer, Glass-Steagall was a standard used by Franklin D. Roosevelt to separate commercial from speculative banking.

“Third, we’ve got to build the North American Water and Power Alliance,” said Sare. NAWAPA is a plan to balance the national water system, according to the flyer.

So far, they have enlisted about 15 people in North Salem to support their cause. Several others said they would think about it. Most people passing were not interested.

When asked who would take over if Obama resigned, Sare replied, “We wouldn’t object to Biden’s stepping in for the next 15 months.”
