Southeast Parents Welcome New Year's Day Baby

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam County may have had to wait until 7:35 a.m. Thursday, but the first baby of the New Year was still here earlier than expected.

Jeffery Anderson was born weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces at Putnam Hospital Center, to parents Corey Anderson and Michelle Fong of Southeast.

Jeffrey will join 16-month-old sister Sophie as the couple’s second child.

He wasn’t expected until Jan. 6 by doctors, but the family is happy to see the arrival of their baby boy healthy, even if he is a bit early.

“So far, so good,” said Corey Anderson. “Any day is OK with me. He came out screaming.”
