Renee A. Loria, 33, of 3 Burdick Road, Southeast, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Deputy Sheriff Adam McKechnie responded to a reported larceny at the Kohl’s store at 60 Independent Way on Friday, Jan. 9 at about 1 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

The suspect agreed to surrender to the deputy at the Sheriff’s Department in Carmel, where she was arrested, according to the sheriff's office. Loria was processed and released in her own recognizance pending a Jan. 22 appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court.

If found guilty, she could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
