More than a decade later, law enforcement agencies are still attempting to identify an infant who was found dead at the Department of Public Works facility in Westchester County.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children released an alert for anyone who may know the identity of the deceased infant, or her parents, who was less than one day old when she was discovered on April 5, 2006.

According to officials, “the infant may have been unknowingly transferred to that location after being vacuumed into a truck used to extra sediment and water from catch and storm basins in Mount Kisco neighborhoods.”

At the time she was discovered, the infant was less than 24 hours old, with fair skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was given the name “April Hope” by local law enforcement agencies investigating the incident.

A composite image was created by a forensic artist with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of “what the infant may have looked life in life.”

Anyone with information or who may be familiar with a young woman that may have given birth on April 5 can contact the Mount Kisco Police Department at (914) 666-3855 or the NCMEC at 1-800-843-5678.
