The frozen pizzas sold under Walmart's Marketside brand have the product code 20547, the department said.

The RBR Meat Company said the recall is related to the Marketside Extra Large Supreme Pizza, they added.

The issue was discovered by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service during a routine sampling.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

According to the USDA, L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. It can be treated with antibiotics.

The department and company are suggesting consumers return the item to the store or throw them away.
