A Very Green Story Time

Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with green stories and help the leprechaun find his gold.

Author Talk

Saturday 5 p.m.  Local resident Dominic Habsburg, grandson of Queen Marie, fled Romania with his family when the communists took over. In 2009 his childhood home, Bran Castle, was restored to the queen’s grandchildren and is now a premier tourist attraction, known as Dracula’s Castle. Habsburg is the author of “A Frog’s Tale,” a fairytale for adults told in visual art, poetry and prose. He will discuss his book and autograph copies.

Days of Wine and Roses

THE SCHOOLHOUSE THEATER, CROTON FALLS

Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and Sunday 3 p.m. JP Miller’s intense drama, “Days of Wine and Roses,” was an Oscar film starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick. Now you can see the original play, performed with the Schoolhouse’s consistent excellence. Sunday’s matinee concludes with a talk-back featuring Loring Mandel, playwright and screenwriter, whose notable works include the TV movie “Conspiracy.” Tickets are $33 to $35. 

Free Rabies Clinic

CORTLANDT ANIMAL HOSPITAL, CORTLANDT MANOR

Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free rabies vaccinations will be available for dogs and cats owned by Westchester County residents. Cats must be in carriers, dogs must be leashed. Advance appointments are required. Call 914-737-3608. This clinic is sponsored by the Westchester County Health Department.

Pancake Breakfast

MUSCOOT FARM, SOMERS

Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For the grand finale of the maple sugaring season the farm staff, in conjunction with the New York Maple Sugar Association, will serve a full pancake breakfast, featuring real maple syrup and maple syrup products. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12. Children under 2 are free.

Legos at the Library

RUTH KEELER MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Friday 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.   Join the Lego Club for and create something wonderful. The club is open to children of all ages. Duplos and Legos are supplied by the library. Additional donations are always welcome.

Famous Bands Perform Locally

RIDGEFIELD PLAYHOUSE

Friday 8 p.m.   The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will perform some of their huge hits such as Fishin’ in the Dark, Mr. Bojangles, along with some recent releases. The Southwest Cafe will offer a free margarita to ticket-stub holders on the night of the concert. Tickets are $55.

Sunday 8 p.m.   The Irish rock band, The Saw Doctors, perform their last concert before returning home. The special guest star is Jay Nash. There will be a Guinness Black Lager tasting in the lobby starting at 7:15 p.m. Tickets for the show are $50.
