What’s Happening in North Salem This Weekend

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Don’t forget dad, grandad, or the most important man in your life this Father's Day weekend.

Friday, June 15

Harlem Wizards vs. The North Salem Dream Team: Doors open at 6 p.m., game starts at 7 p.m. Come and cheer for The Dream Team: Val Baumler, Rob Gilchrist, Jen Martz, Diane Outhouse, Dan Tavino, John Veteri, Jordan Birdsall, John Davis, Damien Holst, Nicole Iarossi, Karyn Johnson, Eric Pechenko, Jessica Wasserman, Joe Senatore and Bill Dahl as referee. There will be hot dogs, churros, hot pretzels, Wizards souvenirs and a 50/50 raffle. In addition, all game ticket holders will be eligible to win a night at The Crystal Springs Resort and a free camp with the Wizards. Golden's Bridge Hounds Spring Hunter Pace: 8 a.m. to noon. Enjoy an early season pace through North Salem's hunt country. For more information, contact Cindy Selian at 845-279-4191 or email horselover56@msn.com.

Northern Exposure Photography Club: 10 a.m. to noon. Andres Valenzuela will join the members to talk about his experiences as a professional photographer. The monthly meeting will be at Van Tassel House, 98 Primrose St., Somers.

Bloomsday Celebration at the Schoolhouse: 12:30-3 p.m. Join the worldwide celebration of Bloomsday, in honor of James Joyce’s “Ulysses,” set on June 16, 1904. The Schoolhouse Theater will present readings from the novel and a re-enactment of some of the scenes. Traditional Irish music, food and drink will be offered afterwards. Sunday, June 17

Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans will be available. The Muscoot Farmers Market will continue every Sunday through October. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.

Big Equipment Day at Muscoot: 1-3 p.m. Kids, dads, grandpas and all other interested parties are invited to climb aboard the old and new farm equipment at Muscoot Farm. Free. The farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
