Joseph A. Kropelnicki, 90, Of North Salem, Bookkeeper & Personal Chauffeur

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Joseph A. Kropelnicki of North Salem died Monday, May 27. He was 90.

Kropelnicki was born Oct. 1, 1922, in New York City to Joseph and Caroline Kropelnicki. He graduated from schools in New York City and was awarded the Purple Heart for services in the army in Normandy, France during World War II.

Kropelnicki was both a bookkeeper and personal chauffeur through the years. He had been a resident of North Salem since 1989, having previously lived in the Bronx.

Kropelnicki is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Kenneth Kropelnicki (Jeani) of Mahopac,  Laura Macgregor (Bill) of Brewster, and Carl Kropelnicki of North Salem; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 29  from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30 at St. Josephs Church, Croton Falls. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
